Now that you are Saved in Christ 2

BEWARE OF FALSE TEACHERS

“1 But there were false prophets also among the people, EVEN AS THERE SHALL BE FALSE TEACHERS AMONG YOU, who privily shall bring in DAMNABLE HERESIES, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And MANY SHALL FOLLOW THEIR PERNICIOUS WAYS; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.” 1 Peter 2:1-3

The damages false teachers do are even worse than the ones of false prophets. False teachers pollute the minds of people with teachings that will make men not to strive for God and His high standard He demands from us. They fill the hearts of people with subjective truth that might sound really good intellectually and logically but are total rubbish spiritually. Teachings that don’t make people to strive to be like Christ, live a sound holy life for Him, seek God for personal one on one relationship, make people desire to know The Word for themselves, become conscious of God, Christ, His Spirit, heaven, rapture etc. are not from God but from the devil.

Many teachings about grace and the Christian lifestyle today are not Biblically rooted and have given so many people the license to live carelessly, become religious, become more like the world instead of The Word and make them loose the fear of God which is one of the sure signs one is genuinely saved.

Many teachers of The Bible today are been controlled by seducing spirits that have led them into errors and are been used to lead many astray also. Such have resulted to using logics, human sentiment and philosophy to explain the Word of God which is spiritual in nature. Those who even try to explain The Word spiritually are not redirecting people to the person of Jesus but to the one of the antichrist. Ungodly characters among such people are not a reflection of God’s Spirit but the one of the antichrist.

“1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;” 1 Timothy 4:1-2

Teachers are instructors or coaches who train people spiritually, mentally, emotionally etc. False teachers teach but with the intent to derail you from the true principles of The Kingdom. While some of them are not even aware of the errors they are feeding people with but the products of their teachings can always be seen in people.
When God’s standard is lowered just to accommodate everyone then you know there is a subtle derail from the way of God’s Word to the one of the world. A great example in history was when a particular sect in Rome decided to allow the pagans to bring in their idols and Christianize such as Mary and baby Jesus. That is a classic example of the result of advanced seduction.

In the same sect, teachings of a temporary place where mass would be said for the forgiveness of sins before such will be allowed to go into paradise is classic example of doctrines of devils. What of another sect who initially taught Jesus was angel Michael then later changed to Jesus is a smaller god. The same sect believes there is no hell and anyone that dies is annihilated. In this same sect they believe God no longer speaks to people neither does He performs miracles again today. These are all doctrine of devils.

Due to the system of the world we live in today and the decadence in Christendom, the devil has capitalized on such to give men what they want in order to control their eternal destinies. Notice in the above verse, that such will depart from the faith and not from ministries. They would still be teaching The Bible but with the help of deceptive spirits that have gained access into their lives via spiritual weaknesses or carelessness.

“3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 1 Timothy 3:4-5

We are in such times today. Many are no longer interested in the sound truth of The Bible. The fallacies going on Christendom should call for concern for those who are genuinely saved in Christ. Since you are one of such saved soul in Christ, you should become very careful with what you read and hear because they have a way of drawing you closer to God or farther away from Him.

“…they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

This is quite pathetic. You need to run away from false teachings or preaching that do not reflect who Christ is according to The Bible. God doesn’t take kindly to deceptions and evil teachings. To tell you the seriousness at which The Bible views wrong teachings, let’s hear from the greatest Apostle in The Bible who had a one on one encounter with Jesus, Acts 9:1-7, was taken to heaven to see God’s kingdom, 2 Corinthians 12:1-6

“6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:6-9

Does the above look a bit to the extreme? I believe so but that is God’s attitude towards falsehood. So many young converts that would have become great pillars in God’s Kingdom have been led astray by false teachings that eventually made them messengers of Satan unconsciously. The degree of decadence in Christendom especially among our youth testifies to the issue we are discussing about.

Many don’t find it odd to live in sin again. I once heard a Gospel Minister who on air proclaimed no believer will go to hell because of sin and his members shouted in excitement. I read a News Paper many years ago about a particular country and the caption was “SINNERS REJOICE BECAUSE THERE IS NO HELL.” I heard from another one who claimed masturbation is not a sin. Another woman of God wrote a book that sex between believers in courtship is not a sin. I once heard another one who controls over 40,000 when asked if Jesus is the only way to God and he said there are other ways but they all lead to God. There are so many strange doctrines today that you need to take care. Such people are under serious curses base on The Scripture above. The fight for your eternal destiny should be done with your last drop of blood because it won’t be funny when you land in hell.
In conclusion, Jesus warned,

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15
Much of His ministry consisted of confronting the false teaching of the religious leaders of His day Matthew 16:11-12; 23:1-39.
The apostle Peter devotes most of 2 Peter to warning against false teachers. Jude devotes his entire short letter to the same theme. John in his epistles repeatedly warns of false teachers. Paul’s final words to the Ephesian elders warned them Acts 20:28-30,

“28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”

I have taking time to talk briefly on false prophets and false teachers because you need to have an idea of what to expect and avoid as you embark on this great journey in your salvation in Christ. It’s not going to be an easy journey but God has made available all that you need to overcome all deceptions as long as you are humble enough to learn and lean on Him totally. So beware of false prophets and false teachers because they are the biggest threat to maintaining your salvation experience in Christ.
